Mazzuchelli Middle School is a member of the Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Students compete against students from other middle schools in four separate seasons:
Boys Girls
Aug. - Oct. Football Volleyball
Oct. - Dec. Wrestling Basketball
Jan. - Mar. Basketball Indoor Soccer (not interscholastic)
Apr. - May Track & Field Track & FieldA $20.00 activity fee is required for each sport in which a student participates.
Both boys and girls also have the opportunity to participate in interscholastic cross country in the fall. Students who choose to participate in cross country may also participate in football/volleyball during the same season. There is no activity fee for participation in cross country.
Only 7th and 8th graders are allowed to participate in interscholastic athletics. An intramural program for Mazzuchelli Middle School 6th graders is offered as an Exploratory class.
